I like the looks of the valve covers, air cleaner, etc. I like those Thorley Tri-Y headers, have them on my El Camino.
Just a tip, when installing the ceramic-coated headers, I tape them up with duct tape (very thick), so I don't nick them during the install, then peel the tape off afterward. I do inside, outside, and under.

If you got the the time and money shave the door handles or maybe just the back ones, and remove the ding bumper this will make the side look less broke up,less going on.Are you going to use the air? if not get a non air cover for the heater core cover on the fire wall , this will give you the space to get to your header bolts spark plugs, and you get rid of that butt ugly thing hanging off the fire wall.

See how the trunk is, we were thinking of doing that up but we weren't sure.
It's just the clear coat that's fading and I've heard that you can buff it and it'll look better.
Any comments on that?

Thanks, yeah it is coming along pretty well. We have all the engine parts here except for the roller rockers and pushrods.
Today we're going to clean out the engine bay for the final time and start painting parts.

that's where the battery box was after we scrubbed it.

So yeah, comments/opinions. We're still cleaning it, we just bought a buttload of paint today to paint up some of the components of the engine compartment like the brake booster/master cylinder etc..
We I took out the A/C condenser today because we don't use the A/C pump anymore, it's really going to improve the airflow to the radiator.
Things left to do to the car:
Finish cleaning the engine bay
Paint the engine bay
Hook up tranny to engine
Drill new holes to fit the 700R4 tranny under car
Install B&M megashifter
Clean up/sand rust spots on car
Repaint rust spots
Reposition back seat
Fix power to the right front seat
Lay new carpet in the trunk
That's about it, soon we'll have the beast running. Next week my dad's not busy at all in the daytime so we're going to be 100% on the car till it's done

Here's our redone Harmonic Balancer and Pulley, both hot tanked and cleaned/repainted.

Here's some new pictures for you's guy's. We've just gotten the engine back from the shop today and into our garage. My brother and I have been cleaning the engine compartment and it's much improved over the original pictures I think, but it doesn't matter cause you guys post your own opinions anyway
700R4 tranny, completely rebuilt, MAJOR overhaul. $827
Our Edelbrock Performer Intake manifold, hot tanked and cleaned.
Our hot tanked oil pan, it's still a lil messed up but we'll probably paint it anyway.
Brand spanking new Flexplate, the old one was crooked.

Most of the engine's done, the machinist is has turned the crank and is now balancing the rest of the bottem end. We had to order a new flexplate because ours was crooked/off balance.
We've just got a B&M Megashifter with ratchet action for our 700R4.
we're getting the 700R4 rebuilt with a 1500 stall.
We've cleaned out the inside of the car and now the mold smell is gone (yay).
We're probably going to go with Fel-Pro 0.015" head gaskets to raise CR.
We still haven't cleaned out the engine bay.
The engine should be done this friday/next monday (as in we can take it home and assemble it)

|Kevin45||Don't coat the inside with grease. Just think about it. All the grease will do is melt and cook. It will not keep the temperatures down, you will have the potential for a huge mess and the potential for a fire from the heat and grease. And if it does coat the inside, it will not soak thru to protect the outside. Now if you had a huge buildup like was on that motor of oil and dirt, then maybe all the heat would not get thru to cook the outside. LOL!!!|
