Well I have to tell you ... your always going to have problems with heads and spark plug wires... I use 90 deg. boots on all my plugs and use good wires (I have Taylors) I used accell before and burned them...
As for getting the spark plugs out the blonde weasel said it all...

I constantly have trouble getting a spark plug socket in under the headers... eventually you give up and just use a box wrench because it clears things better.
As far as burning boots... get some fiberglass spark plug boot covers, they'll help you out immensely.

help with headers and burning wires
i have a 79 camaro with a 350 in it. i just purchased this from a kid who didnt know sqwat about cars. he had a short water pump with nuts and washers for spacers to bring it out to the long shaft placement and the power steering pump bracket was held on with one bolt because the others did not line up. The alternator im not sure how he got it working. I have since replaced all the items on the front and gotten it to run nice. my problem is the headers i have seems to burn my spark wire boots. it looks like there to close to the boots with normal plugs. ive gotten a set of shorty plugs from accell but not sure if there any good. also the number 5 and 6 plug i cant get my socket onto because of the header pipe is right over it. Whould shorty block huggers work better or? im about to put a new carb and go from turbos to flowmasters on this and would like to fix the header problem too. or is this a common problem for this model camaro. ive always had first gen camaros before and havnt had this problem.
