probably have to get a bone yard one, i checked all my catalogs and none were listed. i asked a glass manufacturer once why they didn't make late 40's early fifties hoods and his answer was," the factories couldn't make them fit correctly when they were new, thats the problem. but if we make one we are supposed to gaurentee a perfect fit, that makes it our problem, no way!!"
That should be fairly easy to find. I'm fairly certain 48-53 hoods are the same. One may have differnt holes punched in it for different trim/emblems but they are functionally the same. Since this series of truck is the most common early Chevy truck in the world, you shouldn't have too much trouble finding one.
No one makes a reproduction steel hood. They make just about everything else fenders, doors, bed. Dont know why they dont make the hood. Auto body source is the only place I have seen the glass ones but have to be held down with hood pins. Your hood is actually in two pieces rivited together. One side of mine had a big dent in it. I actually found anther hood that was good on that half so I took the two and made one good one. Welded the seam and smoothed it out.
In the process of acquiring another project truck. Building one out of two and should have a extra hood within the next two weeks. Make a note of my email address in case you don't find something before then. RKesner@cox.net (Phoenix,AZ)
I think lmc has them not for sure send me a email if you cant find one and I'll keep looking im sure I can find one as much stuff I need for the one Im working on
