|gbovaird||Well anything can be made to fit. But as a direct bolt in i think you may be out of luck. Correct me if i am wrong ,your nova has a leaf spring rear suspension and i think the monte uses a coil spring and trailing arm set up. If you are willing to cut and weld brackets you may be able to make it work . But there are alot of things to watch out for if you take this on. Pinion angle, track width, are just a few things that you will really have to pay attention to. It may be easier to try and sell this rear to someone biulding a malibu and take that money and buy a rear that will bolt right in . Just a thought , hope i didnt burst your bubble. I think that rear out of the 87 should be worth a few $, or maybe you could find someone that is willing to trade? Good luck! :-)|

87 Monte 12-bolt in a 73 Nova HB?
I came across a 87 Monte Carlo SS with a 12-bolt Posi 3.73 today, and I am wondering if the rear-end will fit right into my 73 Nova, it's a hatchback, if that's any significance. Thanks to all for replies, hopefully I get one soon enough. =)
