Lee in Texas
Hello from new guy

Hi folks. I'm Lee from about 20 miles outside Austin, TX. I'm a deployed soldier but I'm home on leave right now. I've been into hot rods and just cool cars in general since before I had a license (I'm 36 now) but I've never had a cool car; just transportation. Well, a couple of days ago I got a '29 Tudor Sedan body in metal. I had been looking for 'glass but geez the price is outrageous for those. I got metal with frame rails and fenders for 900 bucks. Who woulda thought??? I was inspired to get this body by the Posies-built Sedan/Pickup from a couple of years ago. That thing blew my mind like no other hot rod ever has.

I won't have time to do any real work to the car before heading back to Afghanistan, but boy do I have big plans for it. For "motorvation" I'm thinkin' Caddy Northstar or maybe even an old straight-8 of some kind. Before I ever imagined I could really have a hot rod project, I started a model inspired by Posies' ride. There is no '28/'29 Tudor Sedan body out there in plastic model form, so I had to improvise. I used a '31 Tudor and grafted on a '29 cowl from a pickup model. I need to scribe new door lines and add a '29 reveal line. Oh yeah, the engine is a scratchbuilt copy of a '32 Chrysler flathead straight-8. I think it looks cool with that looooong engine out front. What was just a daydream is now a small-scale prototype for a real car.

Y'all have a good one. I look forward to learning a lot from you guys and gals on these forums. Lee in Texas
