killerformula If you're yanking the 327 for the sake of more cubes and already have a 350 block, spend 100 bux and get yourself a cast stroker crank. Build up a 383.

My vote goes for the 284. I have the 280 in my 383 motor and find that I could have used the more aggressive profile of the 284 (its not just 4 degrees difference, the overlap and ramp rates are totally different, too).

Hello folks, It has been awhile since I posted here, the hurricane kind of messed things up around here (New Orleans), but anyway I am looking at yanking out the 327 I have now and going for a 350. I have researched the following items and I think this is what I want. I just wanted to run it by you and see what you think. I think everything should work together. Some stuff I plan on taking off the 327 and use on the 350. Maybe someone could dyno this for me. Here is the list so far.

350 2 bolt main (don't have the numbers yet), but I think it is a 1975
Professional products Typhoon intake (1500-6500 RPM)
284XE cam
or
Magnum 280H
Speed Pro hypereutectic flat top pistons 2vr (9.6-1 cr w/64cc heads)
041 casting heads 2.02/1.60 (I think)
Holley 600 cfm
Stall converter (2200-2800 or 2800-3000)
TH400 tranny
3.73 gears
HEI w/accel coil
I asked a friend from another board to Desktop Dyno this combo and he came up with 285 HP. That is no where near what I wanted. If that is true, where is my HP loss? I was hoping to be in the low to mid 300's or so.
Also I plan to upgrade the valve springs that are good up to .550 lift.
Not really sure about the connecting rods yet. May upgrade them also.
If I missed something let me know. This combo should run pretty good. Thanks folks, I appreciate the advice in advance.
