anyone have this cam installed in anything ? how does it do ? whats specs ? weight, tranny, axle, intake, exhaust, etc
how does it idle and what RPM does power seem to be strong at ?
set cam time to -4 or 0 or +4 ?(biggest wonder of them all)
im hoping for more towards lower end torque..

im putting one of these cams in a stock untouched 74 CMJ full size police 350 with 493 heads(also have 487x i could put on it) and 1 5/8" x 3" headersand stocl 80-86 alum intake, and 1406 carb and stock th350(stall converter later on and deeper axle too)

wanted to know what to expect,

thanks for anything!

wow what does that mean, lol

thanks
It is basic elementary cam installation technique that has been used for decades by everyone from street machine builders to super professional drag racers and circle track builders. It balances the cam profile to the piston acceleration to intake dynamics of the specific combination.

I covered it thoroughly about a month ago.

Under engines the thread is "So we degreed our camshaft last night" started 9-29-05 and the last entry is 10-19-05.

A friend of mine has used one in a couple different combos. One was a junkyard 305 with a cast iron Q-Jet intake, 2" Ram's Horn manifolds with full 2" duals and 40 series Flowmasters in a '63 Bel Air with a 200-4R and 3.08 gears. The other is in a 9 to 1 355 with stock 441 heads, a Performer intake and 1-5/8" shorty headers in a '48 Pontiac Silver Streak Aero Coupe ( Turtleback) with a 200-4R and 2.73 gears. The cam performed extremely well in both cars. The 305 had a chop to the idle when cold but smoothed out to a mild burble when warm. The 355 has a nice throaty sound but idles well and pulls strong to about 5400. He installed both of them straight up, both cars could have used a tad lower gear out back with the OD but they still ran decently and handled themselves nicely in traffic. The '63 got 21 MPG, the Pontiac isn't broken in yet but it shows promise of getting decent MPG's as well.. I think you'll be happy with it.
