I have a 1939 Ford PU and I am running a351W with AOD tranny. I used a Mustang II front end conversion (Fatman). The ride on the truck seems like it is "draging" a bit. I think the problem is in the shocks and/or front coil springs. Is there a way to size the coil springs and shacks so I know it is the proper size to carry the load and still make a good driver? Any information would be helpful
Thanks

I am not sure what exactly I mean by dragging. The truck fells like it is bottoming out and on a smooth road it does not feel like the front end is solid. When I accelerate it doesn't seem to lift like I would expect. As near as I can tell the bottom control arms are level. I probably haven't been too helpful here, but the front end just doesn't feel comfortable
There are some coil spring rate calculators listed in the Hotrodders Knowledge Base that might be helpful to you as you troubleshoot this problem. Here's a direct link: Suspension - Brakes - Steering Technical Data.
Springs should be sized by the desired undamped sprung mass natural frequency. Pick your natural frequency based on how you want it to ride, plug in the sprung mass to find the wheel rate. Then use the links that Jon talked about to find the needed coil rate.
