I'm trying to build a '32 roadster on somewhat of a budget. What cars should I look under to find a 56" or 57" wide ford 8" or 9" rearend that I can use without having to narrow? Am I pushing it to ask for disc brakes or posi?

Lots of people use the Maverick (5 lug wheel model only). It is barely over 56". It is a 8 inch rear.

I have a 67 Bronco under my 32 Roadster (9") and it is almost 58"

The 66-67 Ford Fairlanes and Mercury Comets are about 57" wide, the 69-70 Mustang also are about the same length. The 75-77 Ford Granada and Mercury Monarch are around 57" wide. The 65-68 Mustangs are around 56" wide but most of these cars only had 8" rearends. The Fairlanes, Comets and 69-70 Mustang usually had 8" rearends but the hi performance or big block cars had the 9" in them. Most of the Granadas and Mercury Monarch's had 9" rearends in them, I heard Ford put 8" rearends in them but I have yet to see a Granada or Monarch with a 8" rearend.
