Favorite Ford

All it has to do is be a Ford, and Ill love it. That being said, while it wasnt the fastest or quickest car I ever owned, I would have to say it was my first 69 Mustang.
It had a 250 cubic inch I-6 with automatic, but it was well loaded and was often accused of having a Jaguar or some such 6 banger in it.
The mods are as follows:
Art Carr built C-4, manual shift valve body.
Ported head, with 351W valves, 11:1 compression, intake modified to accept 6 Mikuni 38 MM side draft motorcycle carbs. Clifford 225/231 degree cam, dont remember the lift. Clifford Viper Headers. 4.10 equa lock 8 inch rear end.
It did embarrass a lot of bigger V-8s in its day. Wish I still had it, if for no other reason than the novelty of the engine.
Oh btw, it would turn hi 13's in the quarter.

My personal pics....

Favorite that I've seen in person... cboy's '32 pickup. There is not a picture that does that truck justice.

Favorite all time... '64 Thunderbolt. I could sum that car up in one word. Wicked. 'Nuff said

And, just to be a wise acre... Any Flattened Ford is a good Ford.

In a while, Chet.

Favorite Ford?

The cab on this 28 Ford Pickup started life as a 28 sedan, shortened into a pickup cab by my brother in law, then passed on to yours truly. Some health problems and other priorities forced me to sell it to the gentleman that finised what you see in the pictures.
He did essentially what I had planned to do, other than I had a 400 M block that I was going to use.
Otis is powered by a Ford 312, packing 3 dueces and backed with a 3 speed crash box. It just dont get no bedder dan dis.

CrashFarmer, I've got a '55 Sedan Delivery the exact same color as you're new purchase!! :D Not stock bodied anymore, going the Kustom route.

Favorite Ford HotRod? I really enjoyed the 7 Litre 4spd convertible that I had, the '67 Fairlane GT with 428 & C6 but I guess my favorite of the ones I have owned has to be the '70 Ranchero GT with the 429SCJ. That car could light up the rear tires any time I wanted, even with 3.0 gears!! Kind of wish I had that one back. :(

Was it the 33 or the 34 that had the vents in the side door windows???
the 34 had what was called "smoker's glass". You rolled the window all the way up, then when you continued to crank the winder handle,it would move the glass back in the channel about 1 1/2", creating a opening at the front of the window. The 34 had a different regulator than the 33. It has a big cam on one of the gears and alittle follower on the lower window channel. the 34 has a webbing in the rear of the window opening to cover the shortened glass. Cool huh? I'll be quiet now. I like '34's alot.

Yessir, The cowl tops on a 34 have a little notch in the leading edge that give you a place to set the hood side when the hood is open. The paint scheme on denali's coupe is pretty cool. Here is a coupe that belongs to my good friend and best customer, Byron. It is one of my favorite '34s. It was the last glass body that I built at Poliform, before I quit to open my own place, so it has some sentimental value to me also.

Ah you are correct, Yoda.

But there are quite a few metal "34s" out there without the notches and the window metal ...heh heh ... some owners get upset if you point it out. Years ago when the 33 was considered less desireable, 33s became 34s.

Did your glass bodies have them?

Yes and they still do. ( Poli Form is still making them, I still do some work for them every once in a while) I notice that the 33 grill is still the popular one to have on a 33 or 34 though.

up through the 70s the 33 grille was considered the ugly nosed older sister. Everybody preferred the 34.... except me.
