Mad Maggot good point on the car cover, guess I forgot about that one!

As for the McGuire's I will definitely give it a try.

Thanks for the help

wernerupholstery A good quality car cover may help with the addition of the leather care.

302 Z28 Treat the leather seats to a high quality conditioner specifically for auto leather like the product McGuire's makes. It will contain UV blockers that will limit the damage sun can do. Of course it will have to be applied on a regular basis.

Sun damage with black leather seats?

I'm looking at a great set of leather seats from a 2002 Firebird that I want to install in my 85 Trans Am as part of an interior upgrade. These seats are in like new condition and they want the big bucks for the set. My biggest worry is whether or not prolonged exposure to direct sunlight is going to weaken and/or fade the material (I have a leather couch in my living room that is faded and less flexible). I'm moving to a new place next month and I doubt I will have a garage ready in time for the summer, and as such the car will be parked outside constantly. With T-Tops and a huge back hatch window, I don't really have a practical way to cover and uncover all the glass to protect the seats from sunlight. I want to get these seats, but if I have to worry about this particular set being damaged in the sun I will probably have to change my plans and go with a cloth set. I want to have the interior work done this winter so there's no waiting for another set to come around, it's now or never. If anyone has info on whether the material used on these seats is durable in the sun, I would appreciate you sharing it.

Thanks
