One thing we all face with new rubber is how sometimes doors and decks and such don't close just right after installation. This is due to the grip that new rubber has with a fresh finish. Here's the solution...baby powder. Put some in a cup and use a small paint brush to coat the sealing surface of the rubber. It acts as a nice slick dry lubricant. Smells nice too :D No liquid products I've ever found worked, in fact just the opposite. Gave new rubber more grip. Good luck, hope this was helpful.
