Hi there,
I'm a guy who has spent most of his adult life working on circle track racecars for fun. Recently, I decided to build a hotrod for the street and some fun. I build signs for a living, have access to all sorts of neat tools and equipment. I'm a widowed dad, 35, with one 7 yo son. Dating a little bit, trying to find a nice woman who likes my son and cars....really....Hoping to have my 1st project car done by March or April. I chose to do an oddball, I'm putting a SBC/700r4 in a 1993 honda accord. I'm not building it as a "show" car, but it will be solid and not "fear factor" material to drive. No hood scoop, with a stock outward appearance except for the stance and the tire/wheel combo (Z06 wheels and tires. I'm fitting the front clip now and should have pictures to show (other than a cut up car) soon. Suspension is loosely based on my circle track car (super late model) and is designed for proper roll centers and bump steer. The Ackerman is proving to be troublesome because the rack-and-pinion positioning is tight with the motor. Mild motor to start, and I am keeping the stock dash and seats also.....I wanted to try to use the stock guages but integrating the wiring is proving to be a big PIA. We'll see. Oh yeah.....I plan on running mufflers terminating into one of those 3" or 4" resonators those tuner kids like to make noise with.....Even those some of those Hondas are pretty fast.
