78novaman I just drove about 200 miles today in my picup. I put in Lynyrd Skynyrd's greatest hits & Aerosmiths's Get a Grip.

When I went to Philadelphia (about an 8 hour drive) I put a ton of great stuff on my girlfriend's 1gig mp3 player and ran it through my truck's stereo. Lynyrd Skynyrd, AC/DC, Beastie Boys, Toby Keith, Areosmith, CCR, Kenney Chesney & much more! Put it in shuffle and didn't hear a single repeat on the whole trip

cboy, don't dump the cd player. It probably works. It's just that there was no more music after '64 1/2. Just bad noise.

matt167 We have a home network and it has a database of mp3's, my MMJB library counts a little over 1,700 songs, I have a variaty of most anything. I'm going to buy a mp3 disc man and build an AM radio transmitter so I can listen to music on both of my old cars with AM radio's, with little trouble and little expense.

cboy My '32 has a CD player but it must be broken because it will only play songs recorded between 1950 and 1965!!!!

About 5-6 years ago I started a project to find and digitally record EVERY ONE of my favorite Oldies from the days when I grew up. Many of them I couldn't even remember the titles...all I could do was hum a couple bars and remember a lyric here and there. I had to use a lot of library and book store resource books and a lot of "collector" sites on the web to track them all down.

In the end I came up with 164 songs...164 of my own personal favorites. Then the problem was to actually find recordings of them all and transfer those recordings to one super collection. Some I already had on tape or old LP's but my attempts to record them into a digital format and maintain any sort of quality were pretty dismal. So I set out locating and buying as many of the tunes as I could find on Oldies collections. This netted me about 130 of the songs I wanted. But the final 30 or so I simply could not find...or else I could only find them on collections where I already had all the other tunes on the collection...so I was paying $10-$15 just to get one single song.

And it was at that point that my two kids introduced me to Kazza...in the days before the big crack down on file sharing. And while I am not proud of the fact I had to get the songs that way, it did work and I WAS able to find the last few songs for my collection. Today I could do it legally using iTunes or one of the other "pay" sites, but back when I was doing my collection, the pay sites were not even available.

So anyhow, whenever I cruise in the '32 now, "Cboy's Best 164 Songs of All Time" is what is on the player.

WakBordr7387 /\/\/\ I listen to alot of opie and anthony on longer trips or just sitting around on the computer.
But for just cruising, I usually listen to alot of stuff. I like alot of country, but theres alot of country that I hate. I can't stand all the country songs that talk about lovey dovey stuff, I like the rodeo and drinking songs, and that kinda country.
I also listen to alot of rock. I like alot of the hard rock, but for cruising I like older stuff. Van halen, ACDC, lynard skynard, and lots of others.

We have a good Rock & Roll station so that's mostly what I listen to. It's strickly 50-60's stuff. I like clasical and swing also. My wife gave me a bunch of 45's for Christmas for my juke box. (62 Seeburg)

bigun The Beach boys, any of the American graffiti Albums I had these on vinyl and dubbed them onto cassettes back when they were new. I don't know if they are still available but they were great compilation albums. I am very eclectic in my tastes in music at any time you may hear anything from Celtic to big band to heavy metal to CW to some weird Andean stuff LOL
