Evidenty you did not visit www.4speeds.com. You would be able to identify the trans with the information there .

trans

Its a 1968 M20.. It was built in sept of 67 for the 68 model year. It has the correct side cover and tail housing. That transmission has a 1" cluster pin..

All-in-all a good transmission to have... If it's clean and the sincros are not bad then i guess you have a winner.... Remember you need to have the transmission and the cover in the second gear position to get the side cover back on...

muncie

Post all the numbers that are on the tail housing, main case, side cover.

If you look at the front of the transmission, Under the input shaft there is another shaft that is fluch with the case. Measure the diameter of that shaft and let us know what it is...

I would bet that if the trans sat for 10 years with no oil it it there is probably going to be issues....

johnnya Question 1.
I would say you have about a 90% chance that it's a M-20 (wide ratio)
There have been many discussions here regarding how to identify the different Muncie's.
A search would probably turn up ample info.
Question 2.
I think the innerds will be OK. You could remove the side cover and inspect for rust.
