|curtis73||If you would rather do it without many mods, try a 200-4r. They are a direct bolt in; length, driveshaft, the works. You'll still have to move the crossmember, but that's about it. It will require a TV cable, but no vacuum. A healthy 200-4r will pretty easily last behind anything that 1970 put out with the exception of maybe the LS5 and LS6 torque levels.|

No electronics should be required. You wont have converter lockup however. You'll have to get a TV cable setup and install or properly making sure to set the line pressure correctly. If you search here or on google you'll find plenty of instructions. Search for TV cable and 700r4 and you'll get pictures of what you need. You'll also need to configure your shifter or get another shifter to be able to select the full range of gears (as it has one more gear than the th-350).
Guides say to shorten the drive shaft 3 inches. Mine measured to be 3.5. I split the difference when I did the conversion. Since its a slip yoke you have a little room for error.

|1971 Chevelle||There are wires for the torque converter lockup. The wires go to the gas pedal, brake, and cruise if you have it. There might be one more wire. You may have to dent your floorboard to get the transmission to fit. Are you sure your 700r4 is strong enough to hold up? Because a stock th-350 is stronger than a stock 700r4.|

i have a 70 chevelle that had a th 350 intill i broke the case inhalf around the tork conv. but i have 700r4 what do i need to install this i know i will have to move the cross mem and shortin the drive shaft. but what about electronics does it have any? does it shift elec or by oil pressure . please help.
