Thanks

I appreciate the info. I'm hoping to get this figured out without catastrophic failure. Thanks Fats

302 Z28 Both Edelbrock and Holley make specific bolt on brackets that give you the correct geometry for the 700R4. The Lokar unit is nice, and the Bowtie Overdrives unit is the gold standard, but both are overpriced and a simpler solution is availiable. I used the Holley bracket on my Street Avenger carb.

You ca however download the instructions from BowtieOverdrives that give you an idea of the geometry you need to replicate.

700r4 Bracketry questions

Has anyone hooked up a 700r4 in there vehicle using stock bracketry out of the boneyard? I'm in the process of trying to figure this out on my dad's 38' chevy. So far, I've had to lengthen the bracket to get it to mount on the edlebrock eps intake manifold. I have tried some of the local parts stores for a throttle valve cable with no luck. I found a universal one at a tranny shop, but the order has not come in yet. I know that I can order cables and brackets from lokar, but we're tying to find another solution. We're hooking it to a 600cfm edelbrock carb. Is there any special bracketry I need to purchase for the cable mounting to the carb? Anybody with some advice would be greatly appreciated. Fats
