UNWTRMY 350, and yup, she's got drums all around. Manual steering and breaks, this thing is gonna be a beast to drive haha

Blazin72 That's not necessarily the wrong engine. My 72 K5 has the driver side alternator with the same brackets. I've swapped just about everything else out but I've still got the crappy stock alternator brackets. Ha, go figure...

Dont know how many of those trucks came without power steering but a friend of mine had a 68 C10 stepside that had manual steering and manual brakes so it's entirely possible this particular pickup was orignially built this way as well. I'll take a guess and say it's drum brakes up front too...

Is that a 350 or 307?

UNWTRMY yeah it was answered in engines. i realized that i posted in the wrong forum. if you read my earlier posts i told the mods they could delete because i was going to repost it in engines. more people responded to this one though

lakota Power brake booster is missing also. Alternator is on the wrong side, I think I can just see the tip of the alternator bracket on the other side. That truck had power brakes and steering at one time. That's not the original engine, the dirt is a different color from the frame.

The proper year engine....that one is pre 69....................a 71 has the alternator on the other side.
