ignition system

i honestly am not sure but i know the coil is a hotter coil and the ignition module inside the distributer has been up graded and will jump a 6-7 inch spark from the plug wire but other than that i believe it is all stock as far as the ignition system

another question is what determines when the timing advances i know it is not vaccum

NorthStar initial timing + advance curve = total timing

I would start with 10 degrees initial, youre going to need a timing light with retard feature to check total timing.

What are you using for an ignition system?

timing , 2.0

hey thanks just one question is that 31 degrees before or after the advance

NorthStar You need to get your hands on Chevrolet Power catalog 6th edition. Oldy but a goodie.

They recommend 31 degrees total timing.
Plus theres lots of other stuff in there too.
