joegaddy thanks Rodger, I have a complete and all new drum set up that I bpought at a swap meet. They are from a pickup and I suspect the large flange. You certainly helped with your info.I'm building another 40 and an 8" Granada is perfect, but I would like to use these large brakes. Now I know what to measure. HB32 Not sure of your dimensions. I was only aware of 2 sizes for flanges - big and small bearing. Bearing being axle. The backing plate mounting holes from the explorer are identical in pattern to a 9 inch large bearing flange and requires little work to make it fit on the small bearing flange. My housing has the small bearing flanges which came off of a late 50`s truck. Hope this helps. Roger

Don Meyer Roger - Do you know if the Explorer disc brakes will fit the 3 1/2" x 2 3/8" axel flange bolt pattern(9"-early large bolt pattern?......Don

HB32 Yes they will but, from what I know they have to come off a small bearing 9 inch. Also, the rear discs off of a 95 to 2001 Ford Explorer are an easy bolt on, thats what I am using on mine. E-mail me if you would like more info. Roger
