Ok, Picked up that saw but so far only tried it on some 3/16" aluminum tread plate (diamond plate). I will dig out some mild steel plate later today maybe and see how that works. The cut was a bit ragged on the aluminum but was easy to clean up, however I am used to working with sheared edges so I may be hard to please. The specs say it will handle .275" mild steel which is just a tad over 1/4", we will find out. :)

If you get one of these things better pick up some ear plugs too :pain:

I have the metal cutting circular saw. At $99.00 , it would be undervalued!!

I did some 2"x2" x .250" wall tubing. Took a light file to clean up the edge. VERYYY pleased. Also did some 4x4 angle, but it didn't cut deep enough for single pass. Still cut it like butter. 10x better than abrasive. 20x quicker! No clue how it would stack up to a cold saw, but I am looking forward to them making a 14" chop saw version of this saw!!

Enjoy

Thank you impalaman63!! I printed up your coupon yesterday and saved $60.00 last night on H-F's $299.00 1,000 pound platform motorcycle lift!! This lift is solid and well worth the money. It is a lot foot pumping to get the lift to the max. height, about 50 foot pumps worth, but I can live with that. Thanks again.

metal saw test

I bought a metal saw from harbor freight on eBay. made a test cut on 1/4 mild steel and it cuts through like butter and no heat on either piece. This will really make a difference on the way I design parts. I bought a saw that someone had dropped and cracked the top but works OK. I'll replace it with a full price one if it ever quits. typical import quality but will be an addition to any shop.

20% off is a good deal, particularly when your talkin the big ticket items. I was looking at a US General 2-stage 80 gallon compressor they have for $799.00 minus the discount would end up being $639.00 and a savings of $160.00!!

Does anyone know who make these compressors? They look an awful lot like a Belaire the way the motor assembly is situated.
