i have a 40 ply coupe and am putting a 68 chevelle frame underneath. the frame arch and the body arch dont match up and i need to lower the body 5-6 inches. the oem chevelle rear coil was 15 inches. im thinking a 11 in. coil plus body weight(around 500-550 lbs> should give me the height i need. my question is spring rate. what pound spring should i buy. i want a nice smooth ride. this will be a daily driver for fun. thanks
I'm kinda in the same boat, wondering what pound springs to put in the back of my 35 pro streeter. Jegs offers the springs needed, but I have no clue as to what weight I'm looking at. I believe they range up to 250# coilovers which would accomodate 500#. I too however want a decent ride and not too stiff. I'll watch your post to see what recommedations you get. Good luck.
hi beetle, i called a couple chasis shops and told them what i had and what i wanted. they gave me some ideas and now its just a matter of sorting the info out. maybe you have a couple shops in your area also. they will help you.
try this web site for coils. www.pitstopusa.com
