Hi have not done upholstery but quit school and have been in it for 30 years i am 44 ,,
ok first take out sun vizors and trim and old head liner mark bows with a maker or file 1-2-3-4-5 .. slide bow,s in from frount to back 1-5 center each one in side lister that you put bows in cut lister from end to bow so you see abought 1/4 to 1/2 inch of bow on each side start to put up head linor from back to frount most of the time the back has long hooks to hold back bow.. get all bow,s back in,, on each seam pull from both sides of seam to get out pleats,,,ok go to frount of headlinor and i use (dap) glue i dont use spray i brush on better hold,, but put glue on metal right up to glass pull head linor and press look at back side you will see dabs of glue on back this will let you know where to put glue glue frount of head linor from center out on frount ,,,do same on back ..........start on side ,s start on center bow met,,,seam put glue on met,,and fabric,,pull tight and stick go to other side of car an do same ,,,,,you might want to use hair dryer if met is cold ,,,do same with each bow intill all done if you have small rinkels use hair dryer dont get it too close to met because it will burn it put back all trim back in ,,,,,,,,,,,if you dont understand any part of what i have put up here let me know ,, be cause i have to get off here to see ((((DRAG RACEING JUST CAME ON))))((((THANKS TIM)))

In that chevelle they use the ribs that go across the roof. And 3m adhesives spray on the edges.
For my self i was going to buy a liner and then put it in, but i did some looking around at the shops to do it. The prices were about 200 and that included the liner. What the shop said was that the headliner kits most times don't fit worth a darn. so he makes his own.

Installing a headliner
Being brave. Restoring a "72 Chevelle. I bought a new liner...no instructions to this. Need help in the adhesive brand and applying it how? Something we
were not taught in school Ha!
