trans fluid change
Find out how much trans fluid you need, plus 1 qt. When I change the trans filter I disconnect the upper trans cooler line from the radiator then I put a clear hose on the end, put it in a pail, fill the trans with fluid. Start the car in neural, add fluid as it is running about the amount that is coming into the pail. When the fluid changes color shut the engine off . Hook up the cooler line, check the trans fluid level.

Most modern synthetic lubricants are totally compatible with conventional oil. Check the label on the can to confirm. At any rate, unless you drain the converter or flush it the majority of your fluid will be conventional. Over several fluid changes that ratio will swing toward the synthetic.

synthetic transmission fluid upgrade
I am interested in upgrading the fluid in my turbo 350 to a high quality synthetic. When the pan is drained of the convevntiontal fluid much remains in the torque converter and the transmission body. Are the 2 fluids compatible when they mix? Thanks!
