I do 4x4 stuff and the way we cure these issues is with a fixed yoke trans output and a driveshaft with CV joint at the front, and tipping the differential so it is pointing directly at the trans.

Another good site is www.iedls.com, Inland Empire Driveline Service. They have a great tech section that explains all the geometry you need to employ in a driveline setup.

you can get 2*(and I think 4*) shims from any speedshop, 4 WD shop or mailorder catalog. If your pinion angle is out of alignment with your trans output shaft by more than 4* I would redo the spring perches.

driveline angle issues....
I recently discovered...much to my shagrin...that i have twisted the driveshaft in my truck 8 degrees off center.
Of course, I will be buying a new driveshaft soon...but I have a quick question...
Due to the fact that I shoehorned the V8 into my s10, I don't have alot of adjustment when it comes to the tranny to rear end angle.
the tranny is angled up as far as it can be but it is still no where near the same angle as the rear end.
It has been suggested to me that I could either add wedges to the rearend mounts to turn the nose up to the correct angle or cut the mounts off and reweld them in the correct position.
So, has anyone else had this problem?
How did you choose to fix it?
