I have seen some 47-48-48 ford p/u's using ford ranger frames under them & they all had V8's in them. the problem w/the 73 f250 frame is its WIDEEEEE, where as the ranger frames are closer to the same width as your 50 ford, BUT they dont have rack n pinion streering, (unless the new ones do???) ...joe

I have never seen an f250 with rack and pinion sterring .I have see them with a power rack and normal power steering box set up.I am not saying they did not make one but I have never seen one.
my dad has a 68 1 ton with standard power steering and a 69 3 ton dump that also has standard power steering set up.

Rack and pinion
I have a 1950 ford F-2. I want to put a rack and pinion on it so I can have tighter steering. I was goin to use a 1973 Ford F-250 2wd for doner parts such as an engine, tranny, rearend, etc. First of all, does that '73 Ford have a rack and pinion and, if it does have one, would it be smart to swap it out (what're the cons and pros of this)?
