x711 In 84 I dont believe the Z28 had posi from the factory, but it would be real
nice if I was wrong

I will try access the codes on the rear to see if I can cross reference them to
anything. The rear has 10 bolts, and the tranny is Borg warner.

With the car jacked up if I turn one of the rear wheels anti clockwise
the other wheel goes in the opposite direction.

Thanks ><

Chazmac Depending on the gear ratio you have, you may be able to purchase a new posi unit. The new ones require a 2.73 or numerically higher gear ratio to fit correctly.
I am a little curious as Z28's had posi carriers from GM...maybe you need new posi clutches and springs...

84 Z28 Rear End TO Posi Traction Conversion

Hi, I have a 84 z28 Camaro with a 5spd trans. I was wondering if it is possible to convert the rear end to posi as its currently non posi or do I have to
completely replace the existing rear end.

Any info is much appreciated.

Thanks ><
