|shine||set the car tires on some old tires and wheels. it will be higher and safer to work under. best way is to drill out the spot welds and replace the whole piece. i would do the rockers first then the floors. leave the braces off until you set the floors in.|

Ok, after about 5 years of pondering the thought of this painful task, I took next week off to cut out the outer/ inner rocker panels and floor braces and all four sections of the pan. Does anyone have thoughts to consider before I undertake this task (words of caution is considered this too) and weld the new sections in place.
My thought was to cut out the floor sections first (provided by a template from the new pans) to get access to the braces and inners. One question that has me thinking, can I cut out the rot on the old inner rocker and then weld the new to that, or should the whole inner be removed. As you can guess, I donít have access to a lift and will be working on this in the shop on four jacks (as high as they will go).
I have done many additions to houses and other mechanical equipment but for some reason I seem a bit terrified to perform this.
