Triaged Once you do all the stuff recommended by Willys try this. Put two 1/8" thick fender washers under the top king pin cap. It will put more preload on the kingpin spring to compensate for the (guessing) larger then stock tires you are running. I am not exactly sure why it works...but I know many people that have tried it and it has worked for all of them. If I can ever get my truck back on the road I will do it myself.
10-02-2006 05:41 PM Was the solid axle in new condition or a junk yard part? Are the king pins, bushings, tie rod ends, etc. in good condition? If are all affirmative, then your alignment is out. Probably needs more caster which is achieved with thin aluminum wedges that insert between the spring and axle mounting pad to tilt the axle back a bit. Take it to a specialty truck suspension shop, not you local Costco.

Death Wobble

Hello all, I have a 95 Ford F-250 with a rebuilt 351 Windsor engine. I have recently replaced the twin I beam front suspension with a straight axle from an 88 F-350 Dana 60. I have a serious problem with death wobble from 35 and up. This is a King pin front end. I put a new stabalizer shock in the front. It seemed to help for a couple days but it came back all of a sudden. I checked the shock to make sure it had not loosened up and it is still tight. If you know anything that could help please let me know. Thank you
