|jimm||gonzalez,howdy! if you go with the 1.6 ratio you will increase your valve lift [a little heavier breathing/exhaling] however i suggest going with full roller rockers as opposed to only roller tip.crane has a budget line of full rollers [blue racer line i think] they go for about 160.00 around here. the valve covers have to be taller because of the poly locks on the rollers.the full rollers are pivoting on bearings as opposed to one hardened steel ball.the rollertips only have a roller at the tip. you shouldnt have to make any changes to install an appropiate set of full rollers on your 350 other than possibly your valve covers and i have installe an additional cork gasket on my covers and put them back on ,hope this helps, see ya!,jimm|

Thanks Bullheimer, i appreciate the advise. But tell me why would i go to a 1.6 and not a 1.5??
and would i need the tall valve covers for them?

|bullheimer||the cheapest are to get the roller tipped rockers that look just like stock, i.e.: they are stamped steel. get 1:6 ratio. NO MODIFICATIONS REQUIRED JUST BOLT ON AND GO! @$100. for either summit's house brand or Crane. they come with all the mounting hardware too. Don't bother with the aluminum ones unless you need to save the wieght or you just hit the lottery.|

Sounds good to me with that new cam & lifters, there's plenty to choose from (Harland Sharp, good quality & not over priced) use 1.5 ratio & some hardened pushrods with guide plates & new studs, but determin what size studs you have either 3/8 or 7/16. You shouldn't need any head mods except taller valve covers! having said that any head work with those mods would be a real benefit, & don't forget that timing chain.

|GONZALEZ||YES I AGREE WITH THAT AND I KNOW THAT, THAT IS THE PURPOSE OF ADDING THINGS. BUT MY QUESTION IS, CAN I JUST TAKE OFF THE STOCK ARMS AND BOLT ON THE AFTERMARKET ROCKER ARMS, OR DO THE HEADS NEED SOME SORT OF WORK BEFORE DONE?|

|tm454||I beleave the idea is to make HP and make less friction/heat. The roller rockers and roller cam are add on HP. The Intake and better/cleaned up heads allows you to use that HP. Everything relys on every other thing you bring into the mix. Better fuel, more carb, good aftermarket intake and carb, cam and lifters, all to make more HP.|

STOCK VS ROLLER ROCKER ARMS??????
A FRIEND HAS INPLANTED THE IDEA IN ME THAT ITS BETTER TO HAVE ROLLER ROCKER ARMS, RATHER THEN THE STOCK STEEL ROCKERS. IVE READ A BIT ON IT HERE AND THERE, AND IF WHAT IVE READ IS CORRECT, THEN THERE IS SOME ADVANTAGES OF HAVING ROLLER TIP ROCKER ARMS. MY QUESTION AND CONCERN IS THE FOLLOWING. CAN I JUST SIMPLY REPLACE THE STOCK WITH SOME ALUMINUM ROLLER ROCKER ARMS? OR DO THE STOCK HEADS HAVE TO HAVE WORK DONE ON THEM. SORRY WE ARE TALKING ABOUT A 350 ENGINE, IN WHICH IM WORKING ON, SO FAR IVE BOUGHT A 600 CFM CARB, EDLEBROCK RPM AIR GAP INTAKE, A MAGNUM 280 EDELBROCK CAM/LIFTER KIT.
ANY ADVISE ON THIS ISSUE WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED. AND IF THERE IS SUGGESTIONS ON BRAND/TYPE OF ARMS TO GET IT WOULD HELP MATTERS TOO.
