texastomeh GOSH, JCILLCH!!!

I never meant to make the fascination with SKULLS a judgement on anyone's social/physiological profile! I was only soliciting comments re their artistic(?) tastes (he said - with tongue firmly planted in cheek)!! However, YOU do know YOURSELF better than anyone else does!!!

Just jerking your chain a little. You sound like a guy that can get into the spirit of things!!!

Maybe I should drive a civic. many people outside of the car scene would look at a grownman drivin' around in a hotrod and question, why?? I can't explain it? I know it makes me squeeeee. I love hotrods, I love headbones, I love being antisocial. but like I stated before,, I am just a ******bag
Did someone hit a sore spot? I always enjoy reading these kind of introspective, revelatory posts. Looks like verification of several previously mentioned theories as well.

texastomeh I guess they feel that nothing demonstrates your individualism like being like everyone else!!!

That doesn't even make sense to ME; and according to my wife - I am just about the oddest ball you'll ever run across!!

I think that I will just stick to flames and pin striping (and I had the audacity to question SKULLS?)!!!

Magnus_Jager I also found the Von Dutch thing kinda silly also. Of course some people will slap any label thrown at them on their chest/***/head.

pasadenahotrod The most feared modern version of the "skull" motif was worn on the collars and caps of Waffen SS troops in Hitler's Germany 1933-1945. And, the funny thing is, the Nazis ripped it off from some other historical people.

If you look back at rod magazines in the 70s there are several articles dealing with the LA Roadster's showing their "clubhouse" and many of the "decorations" there are emblazoned with swastikas, SS emblems, and Iron Crosses (the Maltese Cross actually, predates the Nazis by decades), and some vehicles in that time had the plainer German black cross with white outlines as used on vehicles and aircraft in the WWII era.

This doesn't mean diddly but was a form of "rebellion" against the times and authority.

I think it is funny as hell that little girls and women wear "VonDutch" fashions and have no inkling about what that really is.

Magnus_Jager They be pirates?

Yar!

The image has been around for 100's of years on vessels. Another "don't mess with me" / "warning" image.

ChevelleSS_LS6 the thing that gets me is the "west coast choppers" german cross stickers on everything from escalades to old beaten farm trucks.

I'm thinking of getting one that says "east coast lawnmowers" just for kicks.
