Might be able to use the entire steering assy from a 73-87 chev
Those are my intentions for my father/son 64.
I have been told that a disc conversion is just a matter of swapping upper and lower control arms to trucks w/o torsion bars.
And I thought I read somewhere that the 73-87 box will bolt right on with just drilling one hole for the box and one hole for the replacement idler arm.
There are forums there for all trucks from the 40's to present.

hey do you know where i can get a ps pump and a gear for my truck and how much work would it be putting one in? will i have to do any fabrication???

If the truck's steering box is properly adjusted by the factory manual and lubricated and all other steering gear parts are acceptable and you're not running steamroller wide tires on the front you shouldn't have to worry about it.
The factory wheel on your truck is probably 17-18" in diameter where most replacement wheels are 14" or less. This will make a difference but you're a big boy and shouldn't have any problems adjusting.

Yes, you really should put a PS pump & gear in your 63 PU.....trucks are really a pain to drive without an assist.....I'll assume you ride is all tricked out & you probably have an aftermarket steering wheel of a more conventional size. It is probably smaller than a stock '63' & the reduction in mechanical leverage with the smaller wheel will really give you a workout as you wheel the PU into a parking lot to show it off.
However, if you have the forearms of 'Popeye' it won't matter.

manual steering or power steering
i have a 63 chevy truck that has manual steering and i was wondering if i should just stay with manual steering or should i put power in there???
