jcclark Whatever you do, don't use a spray can.
You'll just have a bigger mess to clean up later.
You can get acrylic enamel for $50.00.
It's not great but compared to a spray can, it's fabulous.
Probably cheaper too.

I would recommend for under $100.00 use a urethane.
(The whole "kit" is less than $200.00, w/ primer and clear)
They have some nice colors and it's pretty tough stuff.
Far better than enamel.
If you can't afford that, you can't afford to paint your car.

need ideas for cheaply painting 79 TA

anybody got a series of steps that I can follow. I think what I'll do is, sand it all down, then prime it? then rattle it, wet sand it, then gloss it. That's a pretty lame plan, anyone got any better ideas? I heard something about Rustoleum roll on being good for 50 bucks. Maybe sand it then have maaco do a cheap job. I would rather do this less then 100 bucks though. What I'd like to do it use a lot of partard power. It's like horsepower but less.
