Ok, I once had a 1972 Ventura that I wrecked. My dad and I have been in the process of putting another one together and it is in the shop now getting the new motor installed. I would like it if you could give me an idea of what it will put down at the wheels and what it may run in the 1/4. I will be dynoing it and taking it to the track when it gets done, so it will be fun to compare that to the guesses.

496
9.5:1 compression
fully ported 2.19 1.88 valve 049 heads
248 254 @.050 .600 lift solid flat tappet cam
port matched Victor Jr intake
Pro Systems 1000cfm carb
2 & 1/8th inch primary hooker super comps with cutouts
pro magnum roller rockers...

turbo 400
3200 stall
3.55 gear

slicks and cal tracks

Assume the car weighs ~3500 with me in it.

Also, you can take a look at the old ventura before and after being built and after the wreck; along with the new ventura on its way to the shop for the motor in my gallery if you want to see them.

Thanks a lot
Adam

I guess 11.8's @ 119 mph.

I think you need more gear for the best et possible. A 3.73 or 4.11 would do better on the track but not as good for street driving. Could run 11.2's at 120 with 4.11's. Would hit the end of the track at almost 6000 rpm at 120 mph with 4.11 gears and 28 inch slick.

There are a bunch of other issues that come into play at these higher hp/torque levels, so hard to make and accurate prediction.
