Are they really gone? Does anyone know what they will be replaced with? I'm just curiouse and this cat has 6 lives left so I thought I'd ask. The fact that they've been around since the late 60's to compete with the mustang and now they are history and the mustang is still around is puzzling. Does GM have something up their sleave or in their ars? Corvette is still there, but there isn't a car for the middle consumers anymore. Its either a cavalier or a Corvette, no happy medium.

That GTO doesn't excite me, actually I think its ugly and they aut to be ashamed of themselves, but thats me. Now the original foam desighn with the burnt orange metalic paint was awsome but nooooo they had to go and frauk it up.

Couple greasy kids in a Duster pull up to this fella in a new Dodge Ram towing a Charger on the trailer. Kids go "is that a Hemi", fella goes "yep"...then the light changes and he takes off and leaves the Duster. Next light they pull up and the guy goes "oh, you mean the Charger? Its got a Hemi, too!"

That commercial is SO cool. Kudos to Dodge. I saw one of the new Hemi Rams and the badges are cool in theirself.

As far as the F-body, I think they are coming back in 2004. The new GTO is based on the Holden Monarro out of GM Australia. Its got the same LS1 in it.

Hold up. Are you saying they put a Hemi in a Dodge Ram?! No way! Maybe Dodge should think of doing that...wait, they already do!

Wait a minute, now that I think about it, maybe I should actually read articles rather than look at the pictures and captions! ;)
Anyway, I don't keep up on what companies are doing with their new vehicles. Thanks for the correction BigBlockBabe (not to mention the humbling... )!!

lol, they could call it a Dodge "they already do that" Ram.... hehehe... anyway, I agree about the GTO, i am disappointed in thier choice. I liked that concept back in 99, i even have a plastic model of it. Looks a lot better than the Monaro, but maybe it will perform. Truthfully, i didn't like the path they were taking Camaros and Firebirds, they were getting too much like a vette, low to the ground and all. I would like to see them spend a few years designing them and come back with something that is closer to a muscle car feel. Up off the ground, i can wipe my tail at home in my bathroom, i don't need it to drag the ground as i drive.

Croz you can forget that idea. Because of fuel economy, aerodynamics and handling capabilities you aren't going to see another true production muscle car. I just want to see a cool car with personality and individuality, I don't care if its production fast, that I can do at home, but please make it cool and distiguishable.

I love that commercial. A discussion with the wife about hemis lead her to say "why don't you put one in the 36? hmmm........this one could break the bank , and a few other things too but oh so cool it would be.
the f bodies? make em rear wheel drive or it just won't be worh a dang....in mild terms. they'll be back.

dinger - For me, it's usually the other way around. My wife usually says, "Why would you put that in the 36." Then again, she questions all of my great ideas. You should have seen the look I got when I told her about my brother and my idea about the go-cart with the Mazda engine!

I agree with the dislike of the Monaro, or Australian GTO. I have to say a LOT of Pontiac enthusiasts are unhappy with it! The car is supposed to be a performer though. LS1 with a 6 speed and rear wheel drive.....it should be pretty fast. Personally, I am disappointed to see the Camaro/Firebirds go. I have a 69 Firebird and a 2002 Trans Am. Looking at the two side by side you can see a lot of similarities between the two. I hope they take some of the old styling aspects to the new platform, too. Oh, they'll be back........back with a vengeance....

My wife has been pretty cool about the 36, the hemi sounded good to her until I told her it would probably cost about 10 grand for a new set up like the new trucks have, then it wasn't such a great idea anymore.
