cornfieldcars Dan, sounds fantastic. And you should be commended for doing this. It restores my faith in people as it seems there are too many "me" attitudes these days. But most if not all in this forum seem to be givers as opposed to takers. Looking forward to the project.

DanTwoLakes O.K. Here's what we're going to do with the truck seat. I'm going to upholster it 3 different ways. The first way will be pretty much just like it is, but with some improvements. This is a very simple design and should be easy for everyone to understand. The second way will be like the seat Dusty showed us, with the pleated inserts, and the third way will be the one that gets put on E-bay and sold for charity. This one will have built-up bolster areas.

I have enough leftover material to do the first two ways without buying anything, but the third seat I will order some classy shades of gray. Is this O.K. with everyone?

By the way, in conjunction with this tutorial, we are going to have a way for you guys to donate to Leader Dogs for the Blind besides the money we raise on E-bay.
Here's how it works: If you like what you see and appreciate the seat making tutorial, simply go to this link: www.dansupholsteryautotrim.com/donate.php and you will be able to make small donations though Amazon Honor System (minimum $1.00) with your credit card. These donations are fully refundable for 7 days, so if you change your mind in that time, you can get a full refund. The number of donations and the dollar total will be displayed continuously. All of these proceeds will go directly to Leader Dogs, none of it will be taken by me or anyone else. This page was set up with the help of Webmaster extraordinaire Alan Horvath. (O.K. he basically did all of it and I just said "great job Alan!")

I am donating all of my time and all of the raw materials to this project. I will take no payment of any kind, or share in the proceeds in any way. If this is all acceptable to you guys we'll start with the first post tomorrow.

The only problem is there is only one shade of gray. I have lots of other choices and many shades of gray in regular vinyl.

One of my suppliers is offering 100% polyurethane fabric ( Ultraleather is 100% polyurethane) for a really great price. The difference is this looks more like top-grain leather. Basic Ultraleather looks more like calfskin, at least to me.

The difference being: Real leather gets more grain to it the older the animal gets, just like humans get more wrinkles the older they get. I like the look of this stuff, and I can buy it for 1/2 of what it would normally cost me, which would be less than 1/4 of the retail cost of Ultraleather, which goes for about $60 a yard. What do you guys think?

DanTwoLakes I can't even pronounce perspicacious. You give a touch of class and civility to this whole venue. You are invaluable, my friend. Whatever you do , don't change!!

LOL! I can handle big words ... I just like step-by-step instructions that include *everything* -- each and every single detail involved in each step.
