When I Bought my th400 it didnt have a slip yoke in it. I had the normal short shaft and short output housing so I got one from a seller I have bought parts from in the past on ebay.

But.......Im not for sure how far my slip yoke should be in to measure for a drive shaft? My Original driveshaft is a few inches short and will need to be lenghthend.

I assume they will have to use a different yoke on one end because the slip yokes u-joint holes are bigger than the ones on my yoke. Correct or do they have a u-joint with two differant caps on it?

Im pretty new at this but Im to the point I need my Driveshaft built and I want to make sure measure and get it exact.

Any input?
Thanks

The slip yoke uses about half, if the yoke is 6in the out put shaft goes in 3in. I am planing on using a chevy 350 to a ford 9 and can have the drive shaft made with the two different sized u joints. There is a trick to measuring for the drive shaft. For instance take measurements at ride hight. Try a web site for custom drive shafts, they usually will tell you how to do this even allow a doc to download for your own reference. I am sure you could find a local shop, preferred with specs. in hand will do a nice job for you.
