The big issue will be that the S-10 is a considerable bit narrower in tread width than the 55. This will put your tires way in from where you would want them to sit. Some people use spacers but I can't recommend using them. If you are a fan of the wide/deep wheel look this might be a plus though.
Also the 4x4 chassis is supposed to have a tread width that is wider than the 2 wheel drive This might be something to check into, you would just have to remove all the 4x pieces.
The best thing is to get your tape measure out and do some measuring and calculating and see exactly what you are up against.
It might be noted that the first guy who is known to have put a 47/53 cab and bed on an S-10 frame narrowed and cut down the cab, hood, fenders and bed to make it fit the chassis correctly.

The S-10 chassis has the bow under the cab area which has to be dealt with..only way I know to do this is to set your cab on the S-10 chassis and then measure up for the mounts..You should have the fenders attached as well so you can line up the radiator support and the inner fender mounts..Once that is done the rest of it is straight up rod build..

55 chev truck- s10 frame swap
hello i am starting a new project and i would like to know has any one out there done this swap. a 1955 chevy truck cab and a 1983 s10 frame with a 117 inch wheel base ? any info would be great . thanks ken
