techinspector1 You don't need anything more than a standard pump, but if you're gonna do the high volume/pressure pump, then you're gonna need to open up the clearances on the main and rod bearings to sling enough oil onto the distributor gear to keep it lubed. The pump will require additional work from the gear to turn the pump and needs the extra lube.

383silverado you will need a 7 qt oil pan or you will risk sucking the the 5 qt pan dry at high rpms. there is also a high pressure pump also. fyi

there is a difference between high volume and high pressure

High flow oil pump

Can anybody give me a link to a good high flow oil pump for a 383 SBC?? I've been told when making a stroker it is a must for a higher flowing oil pump.

Thanks,
Keith
