|5window||Not sure if I can be helpful, but I put it a new Tanks Inc. fuel tank in my Model A. It has the anti-spill vent in the top, right near where the fuel line comes out. (I got the tank and the valve from Yogi's-maybe they can help). From a practical standpoint, I don't see how you can vent a system if the valve is below the luqid line. That doesn't seem to make sense to me.|

|MAUSS||I don't know about other LT1 equipped cars, but my '94 Impala SS (with a LT1) doesn't have a tank vent at all... it's a unvented system with a return line, charcoal canister, non-vent gas cap, etc.|

fuel anti spill valve for gas tank
I am rodding a 36 Chevy and built my own fuel tank. I'm running a 94 LT1 engine. I used the sending unit out of a Grand Am Pontiac and put it on my homebuilt tank. The sending unit includes the fuel line, fuel return line and a vent line.
I've been told to put a roll-over anti-spill valve on the vent line. Another person said it's not necessary as that sending unit has the roll over anti spill valve built into the sending unit. I've also been advised to put the vent below the tank level so that if the car does roll over the vent line will be above the tank and won't spill fuel.
Does anyone know if the GM sending units for fuel injected vehicles (about 1990 or 91) had a built-in anti spill in the vent line? Is it a good idea to put the vent line below the fuel tank level? Seems like you could get a siphon effect and leak fuel in the upright position if that was the case.
