35WINDOW I have a few Cars that really intrigue me-a tube framed Vega with a 572 (blown of course-even though Grumpy's Toy was a small Block carbed Vega, that Car made an impression on me), a '55 Gasser with a 8000 rpm tunnel rammed small Block, or an Anglia with a blown small Block-guess I'm just a little unimaginative and nostalgic-

papa_clutch Nobody will probably like this one. It is german based, but american made.
I would build an all Pauter machine 3517cc (215 ci.) vw based 4 cylinder.
96mm (3.78") stroke and bore of 108mm (4.25") little more than half of a 427.
billet flanged crank, titanium rods, je pistons.
Pauter machine super pro heads with 57mm intake (2.244")(370cfm@ .700") and 47mm exhaust (1.850")(325cfm@.700") titanium intake and inconel exhaust valves.
billet roller cam, specs to be determined.
hilborn mechanical alcohol injection with a gt42R-ish turbo blowing through it.
2" primaries on the header and a 4" downpipe.
I would like to say I would put it in my drag bug project, but with around 1,000 hp that might be a little much.
So I would put it in a front engine dragster with a powerglide and a mark williams modular rear end. With a 1500 lb. total weight and estimated 800hp@the wheels it should appoximately be:
With 31" tall tires and 3.88 gear
Power to Weight Ratio: 1.88
60 Foot E.T. : 1.00
1/8 Mile E.T. : 4.53
1/8 Mile Trap Speed : 149.98
1/4 Mile E.T. : 7.18
1/4 Mile Trap Speed : 187
1/4 Mile Trap RPM : 7,851

Brian... the picture is the front of Tommy Ivo's twin Buick Fuller Chassis dragster.

Some great old photos of the build up.

302 Z28 Rolls Royce Merlin in a P51D, or a Rolls Royce Griffon in a Spitfire Mk 14 .

302 of death

If i could build any engine I would build a 302 chevy hiiiii-compresion all roller top end 2 fours on a tunnel ram. 4-speed 4:88s straight axle 55 chev. Let that thing wind right off the end of the tach. Or a blown Hemi in a willys. Can you be a car guy and not love( or lust) after a Blown Hemi!!!! And I'm a die hard chevy guy. But hemi's are like being American we're not all the same nationality but we're all American. What ever you're favorite marque is you still have to love the vaunted H E M I.

DeathRattle Stock 350 SBC.

Just Kidding.(That joke is for Centerline )
Old chevy straight six(prob a 250), twin turbo setup. Back it with a rockcrusher and a moderate axle ratio out back. Shove it in an old chevelle. That would probably anger some people, but hey its what I want.

steve392 Aluminum block 417 Donovan, Hot Heads aluminum heads with roller rockers. Hilborn EFI on top of a 8-71 blower, maybe port injection also....This time put it into a Willys pickup. (If it would fit into an Anglia panel truck, I'd do that.)

OneMoreTime Kind of different..I would build a 300 Ford six with an aluminum crossflow head and three S&S carbs..roller cam 1.6 rockers and put it a Vintage Oval Tracker and go to Bonneville or El Mirage with it..

345coupe Something goofy like a supercharged 225 slant six Dodge in something even goofier: My '62 Lancer hardtop that became a roadster in the early '80's when a tree fell on it and the owner took a hacksaw to it.

Indy single plane manifold with 1250 dominater

2 1/8 primary 4" collecter custom made headers.

If I could build something like this I would put it either in a 68 barracuda or a 70 duster and run it in the pump gas 10.5 street class. its nice to dream isn't it.
How about a 1943 Rolls Royce Merlin V-16 aircraft engine stuffed in a altered/AFX stlye 1969 Ford Mustang...with laser straight black body and clear lexan hood. Black chrome, stainless and nickel plating everywhere. For the street of course! Could this be my next project?
