jimfulco 3899621 is the one you need. It fits the same combos as the 3858403, but with the larger 14" 168-tooth flywheel.

bell housing identification

I have a 1972 454 that I built and was attaching the bell housing and realized that the one I have will not work. It is a part no. 3858403 and was told that it is a very popular housing for early 70's late 60's big and small block cars with the Muncie tranny.
When I went to bolt it up to the big block, the flywheel will not fit with in it.
the flywheel is the same 14" diameter (including ring gear) as my small block flywheel. The bell housing bolt pattern fits on the block perfectly.
Can anyone tell me what bell housing I need in order for me to hook up my Muncie M-21?
