|artsman||Colas have phosphoric acid in them.That's what gives them that "bite" on your toung. It also eats on your teeth and will remove rust if you leave it on long enough. Might as well use the real thing and make it the strengh you want to do the job. Makes a great metal prep also....Doug|

Use Coca~Cola ....it eats rust I soaked about a hundered sockets, lots more to go, (disclaimer It wasnt me that let them rust ) in it today then wirebrushed them to clean them up with a wirebrush on a rotary tool.

|artsman||What are the stains? Rust? You might try some chrome cleaner, fine steel wool, vinegar (It's a mild acid) or even a fine rubbing compound. A buffer with chrome/stainless steel compound should do it. After getting the chrome clean and bright, you should wax it.....Doug|

Stains on bumper...
I have a 98 silverado that has some serious stains on the front bumper. Didn't realize just how dirty it was until we removed the molding befor cleaning it. I was wandering what I should use to clean it up. Is there any home-brewed something or other that I could rub on it. What would be best to get it back as close to possible to it's original shine.
