Several companies sell the basic swap kit, with just the necessary bracket and hardware. The calipers that are used most often come off of a 78-81(84?later?) GM midsize, like a camaro, or monte. those years usually have the smaller "metric" caliper.
The earlier 69-77 GM midsize car caliper is larger, with a bigger piston, mounting hole spacing and pad..
Scarebird is another good place to find a bracket/ hardware set.

I orginally thought I had 11" brakes but when I measured them it turns out they are 9"
Mikey, I will definitely look in the 11" upgrade and maybe some nice clean ceramic pads will have enough grab then.
I just dont think 9" brakes are enough to stop a car with a big block.
Does anyone know what year, make, model, GM these calipers/padd come from on the 11' brakes?

You may not like the dust that gets on your wheels from metallic pads. Ceramic pads while keeping you wheels clean, you will loose a little braking ability over high grade metallic pads.

You could consider an upgrade to a set of 11" rotors and GM midsize calipers. Several companies make and sell upgrade kits. Speedway motors, ECI, Brake tech Solutions and Master Power Brakes all have kits to do that, as well as several others.. The prices start at about 300.00 and go up, depending on whether or not you can stand to allow the wheel hub position to move out.
I just swapped a set of the stock size, 9.25" pinto/mustII rotors for a set of 11" rotors with pre 78 calipers on a guys 40 ford and the additional braking performance was awesome.
In his case he originally had some high performance metallic pads with the small rotors and all they did was heat check the rotors because they were working too hard.
If you have the early pinto, (pre 74) no one makes a kit for those, you must swap the spindles to later ones to get the mounting provisions to mount the bigger brakes.

Best brake pads for Mustang II ?
When I got my '37 Plymouth it already had a stock pinto IFS. I dont know what kind of calipers are on it, but I was considering replacing the brake pads.
What is the most common rotor/caliper combination?
What is the best brake pad on the market for this application?
