Craftsman

Hi yall. I came across a good deal on Sears Craftsman Quiet Gluide, 10 drawer. $100 off with free shipping. Came three days late. Opened the box, the top was bashed in and top drawer bent, couldn't even close it.

Called Sears and did the roundy round. After *****ing enough, they knocked off an extra 5% (Oh you know that will break them! The guy acted like it was going to come out of his own pocket) but was able to return to the local Sears. They had one in stock, got one went home.

Laid the tools out all nice and neatly, still need more room. Yall were right, but it is a start, plan on getting the lower drawers when I get some $.

Good deal!

Thanks for yall's help.

schnitz Menards had a sale on the "homeowner" type cheaper top chest/bottom roller combo for $50. I passed because I'm holding out for the 52" ball bearing jobber.

CDJr I just bought one also and the best deal I found was by Sears on eBay. I bought two exactly like Brian B's minus the middle cabinet, still in the boxes, for like $280. Thats less than half of what Sears normally has them on sale for, which was $299 each

Ideas Posted

I have been checking out the ideas posted, I am not ignoring them. Please feel free to continue.

Ireland's child suggests waiting until after Xmas, that is a good idea as well, the after Xmas sells are usually pretty good. If I find something in the meantime, that would be good as well. And hey, the $168 sound pretty good too.

Milo sent a link, thanks am checking this out.

55BigBlock, good idea. The only problem with file cabinets, the last one we picked up was a great deal. Found after a weekend yard sale, they were throwing it away. It was sooo nice, it was taken for keeping legal paperwork in.

Sears - rolling cab with a top box - $168/cheap for a home shop box. Hmmmm, if I count that jug of pennies, sell the extra kerosene heater on Craigslist........

Irelands child If you can wait until after Christmas, you would be surprised at how cheap they can get. I bought a Sears roller bottom to put under my Snap-on box and a Home Despot 3 drawer box to put some more tools in - I think the total was just over $100. BUT, they are no where near the quality of the Snap-on box. I paid 'big bucks' for that about 1960 - $150 but it still looks good and hold a lot of tools. And I still have lots more tools on peg boards, in drawers and cabinets. Soooooo, after Christmas.........
