Oldred is Right,......... You're Missing a part........

Another alternative is to Scrap the Plastic line,+ Replace it with Copper Tubing,.....
Then all you'll need is a couple of furrels,...... No Inserts needed......

oldred Super glue will not hold forever and you have a part missing.

There should be a small brass tube 1/8" in OD and about 3/8" to 1/2" long (for a 1/8" ID plastic tube) with a lip formed on one end. This brass tube is inserted INSIDE the plastic tube to support it so that it will not collapse when the ferrule (the tapered brass part that slips over the OUTSIDE of the tube) is crimped by the nut that goes over the entire assembly, that is there are two brass pieces inside the nut besides the fitting it screws over. You really need to fix this thing right because if it fails and you don't notice it you very well could burn out the motor if it stalls while trying to start the pump with pressure on it. Besides the fitting that this is all attached to you should have,

1- A brass nut slipped over the line first.

2- A brass ferrule that slips OVER the line about 1/8" past the end of the tube.

3- A brass tube that slips INSIDE the plastic tube to support it.

If the ferrule will not slip past the end of the tube it is because it is already crimped and it is not going onto the tube far enough, these things are NOT REUSABLE! Once the nut has been tightened onto this part it must be discarded and replaced with a new one but even if you can get it farther onto the tube it still probably will not hold. This is because no matter how much it crimps the plastic tube will simply collapse and slip out unless the brass insert that you are missing is in place to support it. These are VERY common and inexpensive items that you can easily find at any hardware store or plumbing supply.

I have:
1)the plastic line (small) 1/8" dia???
2) it goes thru a small brass fitting that has threads on it
3) after that a small brass tapered fitting goes on the tip of the line and the very tip - it won't go past it. This is what I superglued onto the tip. So far it has worked.
4) then all I insert the line and (tip) into the valve line assemble and tighten #2 into it.

Before superglue just the plastic line would pop out and I would have to unscrew both brass fittings and start over.

oldred When you say the insert is not completely round are talking about the ferrule or the insert that goes INSIDE the line? You should have a compression nut that screws to the fitting and that the tube goes through, a brass ferrule that the tube also goes through and is crimped by the the nut and a brass insert the size of the ID of the tube that slips INSIDE the tube to support it when the ferrule is crimped. Do you have all three pieces?

I tried super gluing the little brass insert on to the slightly sanded plastic hose tip. So far, so good. The little brass insert is not completely round, I tried a slight crimp a month ago to no avail. Crimped it again back to round but couldn't perfectly. If this super glue doesn't work, I'll follow your suggestion. I wonder if my local ACE Hardware even has that little brass insert? As you know, it's tapered.....thanks!

oldred Just scrap the line and go down to the hardware store and get a new plastic line with some new brass ferrules and make sure that you get the little brass insert that goes INSIDE the line to support it when the ferrule is tightened. It sounds like the insert is missing and if that is the case even if the ferrule crimps properly on a plastic line it will simply collapse and slip out no matter how tight you get it if that insert is missing. The whole outfit will only cost about 4 or 5 bucks, maybe less.

Mostly on it's way to working pressure. I'm going to rough sand the small plastic hose tip and try either super glue or JB Weld to the inside of the brass coupling/collar. Can't hurt I guess......

Does it build up to working pressure then pop-off, or is it as soon as the compressor starts up?

Air Compressor Unloader Valve line keeps popping out...

The tube that goes inot the air unloader keeps popping out and air escapes. Unscrewed it re-aligned the tube with the brass thingy inside, screwed it back and .....turn on the compressor and....it pops out again? 21-gal upright oiled, 6 months outta warranty. Gotta be an easy fix? Anyone???
