I'm building a custom bodied corvette and want a different paint job to go with it. I really like the paint effect on the z4 coupe concept and would like to use it on my corvette. My idea is to spray a silver base and then a satin clear. Will this work or will it come out like primer?
Thanks,
Scott

I'll prolly get a can of worms opened up here but, I have had some good results with PPGs DBU reactive base silvers without clearing at all when matching/blending repairs on BMW's "White Aluminum" color as it's called on the newwer bikes and similar to what your looking at on that car.
It's meant to be clearcoated but will hold up and be easy to respray every few years to keep it looking sharp.

OR

if longevity is an objective then PPG's DCU 2060 Flex N flat clear would be used on top. :welcome:

Yes, your plan with clear is also a sound one..
