|streetrodderbn||Try and find pictures from the 2006 columbus streetrod nationals, there was a 35 ford pickup there with a 35 car frontend, it had MAJOR cowl modifications and was red in color. the 35-40 ford cars and half ton trucks(and 41 half ton trucks) all had the same frame, the only difference is the pickup trucks did not have the outer framerail body mounts riveted to the framerail.|

35 Ford coupe front clip on 35 Ford truck
I have seen this done on a '36 pick up and the look was awesome. As I remember it the firewall and the rear edges of the hood are different. Maybe you should look at getting the cowl along with the front clip from the car.

Hello , actually I have three grills, one original ,two after market . One of the after market grills looks like an original Ford except where you can see the welds and grinder marks. I was told it was one of the first C.W. Moss grills by the guy who sold it to me for $1500. The other after market grill ....well it's not quite as authentic looking . The horizontal bars dont quite have the "V" shape like originals did , they are just kinda flat across. All were purcased on ebay with dissapointing results when recieved . The origanal Ford grill was advertised as NOS exellent shape , but when I recieved it , it had repairs near the crank hole that where in need of more work. Not to say I can't make nice grills out them but , the price I paid for them was more than I would have if I could have seen them first. So I have $1500 plus S&H , $1500 plus S&H, and $800 plus S&H for a total of something like $4000. in grills for a
35 Ford coupe . So yea ...your right about the hens teeth.

I have seen a few early fat fendered Ford trucks with passenger car front sheet metal. I do not know how easy or difficult it was. I do know that for all basic rodding purposes ... the 35 Ford car and the 35 Ford pickup share the same frame.
Again ... WELCOME

I have no experience with a 35 Ford ( sure wish I did ) , but anything can be done if you are determined enough. Metal can be cut/added to/Ground and filled , whatever you need to do to make it work.
Best of luck with your project!

35 Ford Coupe front clip on 35 Ford truck
Hello everybody! I'm considering putting a 35 Ford coupe front end ,( fenders grill and hood )on a 35 Ford truck I bought . The truck is just a cab , doors and car chassis ...so either way I'll be buying stuff to build this truck . I haven't received the truck yet to answer some of these questions I have myself. Can anyone tell me what I have to look forward to. Will the car hood fit the top of the firewall? How bout the sides of the firewall? I already know the hoods are different at the grill. How bout the car fenders...do they contour the cowl of the cab at the bottom of the firewall? Would I need the running boards from the car or the truck? Oh yea and what do ya'll think about the looks of this combination? I'm sure its been done before. I already have left over parts from my coupe I'm building so I'm ahead of the game there. Thanks for any input ! 35hotrodtodd
