|Stroke||Mostly that a DP is not primarily used, nor was it designed for 'street driven' vehicles. Sure, guys run 'em and like 'em. Do the guys who use them know if they're the best carb for their app? I doubt it. Toss on an old 3310 VS and see where you're at. The VS carb is only going to deliver what the motor needs, no more, no less - when properly tuned. The DP delivers an overly abundant supply of fuel for most 'street driven' applications and is not necessary but to say you run a DP. JMO|

those are not vortec heads.
what wrong with the 700 cfm with mechanical secondaries
my build is a 350 4 bolt main vortec block with vortec heads and roller cam & GM LT4 "HOT" cam kit. duration @ .050 is 218*/228* .525" lift with 1.6 rockers, LSA is 112*. and a 750cfm mechanical secondaries. but I have been offered a 650 & 700 double pumper with mechanical secondaries I'm running a 4 speed & 411 gears.

|Stroke||It's too much for 400 HP. The Vac Sec would be waaaay better. You'll be fouling plugs and running rich even if you jet it down.|

So wats so wrong about my carb ?

|Double_v23||Yeah that is exactly what it does but by hot they may have meant engine temperature, it is not alot earlier only 4 degrees out of 360 (or 720?) it creates higher engine temperatures by "leaning" out the engine.|

any info helps
Thanks someone told me it would run alot hot( as in fast off the line) and kick the cam in alot earlier

Probably not. Just kidding, you don't need to have a double roller to advance the timing they sell crankshaft keys and if you have a degree wheel you can do it differently as well.
You might see a gain of 4 ft/lbs of torque and 5 hp and you may lose .5 Hg of idle vacuum.
Does that help?

UMMM ok ....
So ur telling me if i advanced the timing on the roller to the triangle it wouldnt do anything lol

If you have asked this alot and you want more responses try bringing your previous posts back to the top of the list by actually responding to the answers people give you.
It will give people a history of what you already know,
The setup is fine except for the mechanical secondaries. And why do keep listing the Double roller? It has no bearing on performance or driveability whatsoever.
It is pretty annoying to open a new thread only to see the same question a half dozen times in 1 week!!

Is all of this be Good for the street ?
Okay, From what I have been told from this awesome site, these parts would be fairly close to 400 hp and would be decent for street and higher rpm racing.
700 Cfm Holley Double Pumper Mech Sec.
Edelbrock Rpm Manifold 1500 - 6500
Vortec Heads Casting Number 14102193 1.94 and 1.5 valves
Summit Cam lift 466 and 488 with 224 and 234 dur,
And a Comp Cams Double Roller
Can any of you tell me the specs on those heads ?
Also, What would happen if I advanced the timing on the crank with the roller ? Would the motor be different or the same ?
I know Ive asked this alot and Im sorry about that but im double checking before I pour money Into nothing
