What are you running for front shocks........are they worn out?
If shocks won't help, I would replace the springs in the way you mentioned..........New springs and ride height always seem to be a crapshoot...............
BTW...Love the style of those Buicks....had a 65....300/4 speed.........white interior....sweet car

65 Skylark with BBC Spring question
I know there are other threads with this going on but I figured I should start my own.
I have a 1965 Buick Skylark, the previous owner said he put some progressive rate drag springs in the front under the 350 SBC that he had in the car.
The ride height was a little high for my taste but that is ok, I dropped a 496 BBC in the car and the ride height dropped to exactly where I wanted it.
However now it has a tendancy to "bottom out" and scrape the oilpan on the ground.
Also if you accelerate quickly and hit the brakes the front end goes from an elevated position then compresses to the bumpstops right away.
Want I want to know is...
How do I figure out what springs I need to keep my lowered ride height but stiffen the springs sufficiently to keep them from bottoming out on the oilpan?
I mean could I just say "I want a set of 1.5 inch lowering springs for a BBC GM A-body" to moog or hotchkiss or something?
There are plenty out there (because it is the same chassis as the chevelle)
